Emulate Ekwueme’s peaceful politics – Onyeneke tells politicians

Media consultant and former National Trustee of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chief Fidel Onyeneke, has advised Nigerian politicians to emulate the peaceful disposition of the late former vice president, Chief Alex Ekwueme, in playing politics devoid of violence and acrimony.
Onyeneke, while reacting to the death of the elder statesman, described him as a political colossus who never believed in intimidation and marginalization of any section of the country.
“Ekwueme has much regard for the media and used it courageously to fight the draconian military regime of the late Gen Sani Abacha. He also preached peace among the political parties, and worked tirelessly toward the unity of Nigeria,” he said.
The former NUJ boss called on the Federal Government to immortalize Ekwueme as a pillar of democracy in Nigeria, saying that his loss was a huge one to Ndi-Igbo and Nigeria in general.
