George Best Okoroh loses mother

Matriarch of the family of an Imo State based veteran journalist, Mr George Best Okoroh, has passed on. The demise of Mrs. Virginiah Okoroh  occurred on Christmas eve in Port Harcourt after a protracted ill health.  She was 94 years old.
Late Mrs. Okoroh was an Anglican to the core, nurtured in the Anglican doctrine and a devoted member of St John’s Anglican Church, Ihiagwa,  where she had her last outing in December 2012 when she was honoured with a Centenary award at the 150th year anniversary of St. John’s Anglican Church, Ihiagwa, an event she was visibly excited for being alive to not only witness  but also was an awardee.
According to a statement by the family on the burial arrangement,  the chief mourner, and  Press Secretary to the Anglican Bishop of Egbu, Mr. George Best Okoroh, said the remains of late Virginiah Okoroh would leave the Ascension Mortuary on Thursday 1st February 2018 for lying in state at Late NSE Okoroh’s Compound, Mboke .
The funeral service will take place at the St. John’s Anglican Church Ihiagwa to be followed by her interment at the family compound.
