Bishop backs Obasanjo … Says I told Buhari not run for 2015

By Nick Chibunna
Anglican prelate and Bishop of Egbu Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Enyinnaya Okorafor, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari never to pay heed to those calling on him to seek re-election in the forth-coming 2019 general election.
Bishop Okorafor who was reacting to the recent letter of the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, to President Buhari, advising him not to seek re-election in the 2019 presidential polls said that, the letter vindicated his earlier submission during the 2015 general election when he advised Muhammadu Buhari not to run at all due to rigours associated with that office and other exigencies.
According to the prelate, the Federal Government under President Buhari has not done much to meet with the demands and aspirations of the masses, hence his second slot is not necessary.
He said that those mounting pressure on Buhari to recontest in 2019 were not honest, hence he advised the president to tow the line of honour and step aside for his well being.
On the rampaging Fulani herdsmen and their serial killings across the country, Bishop Okorafor said that the only solution is for the security agencies to be proactive in order to nip the menace in the bud.
He also advocated for stiffer penalty against the perpetrators of the heinous crime, and at the same time said that the only way to end the impasse between the Fulani herdsmen and farmers is the establishment of ranches, not cattle colony.
