Christians have been charged to participate fully in the continuous voters registration exercise to obtain the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and use it to elect God-fearing and credible leaders capable of steering the affairs of Nigeria at all levels in the forthcoming general elections.
A clergyman, Fr. Val Nzewunwa, of Christ the King Catholic Church Oru Ahiara in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA gave the advice while speaking on the need for the people to exercise their civic rights and responsibilities.
He urged Christians to disabuse their minds that politics is a dirty game and cue into the process for the benefit of all rather than sitting on the fence and give opportunities to money-bag politicians to toy with their mandates.
The clergyman stated that the PVC is the power to vote and also a veritable document in bank transaction and travelling visa applications, calling on community and religious leaders to enlighten the people on the need for the electorate to eschew apathy and vote conscientiously for equitable democratic largesse, improved economy and better living condition.
Fr. Val reiterated that any registrable Christian adult who does not register and get the PVC or fail to exercise the universal adult suffrage is worst than an infidel and unworthy to be called a Christian.
