The Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, has elected two new archbishops, four bishops and a new dean.
At its recent Episcopal Synod held at the Cathedral Church of St. Barnabas, Ilorin, Kwara State, the church also translated three serving bishops.
A release signed by the General Secretary, the Rt. Rev. Dr. S. Ayodeji Fagbemi, stated that the synod elected the Most Rev. Ali Buba Lamido as the Dean of the Church of Nigeria for a five-year term.
It also noted that the Primate, Most Rev. Dr. Nicholas Okoh, had solicited the prayers of the church for the elected “servants of God as they prepare to take their new offices”.
The new Archbishop’s, bishops and their dioceses are as follows:
1. The Rt. Rev. Humphrey Olumakaiye for the Diocese of Lagos (on translation from the Diocese of Osun North East)
2.    The Rt. Rev Dr Samuel Ezeofor for the diocese of Aguata (on translation from Diocese of Ogbaru)
3. The Rt. Rev Akintunde Popoola for Ibadan South diocese (on translation from Diocese of Offa)
4. The Revd Canon Victor Agberam for the diocese of Northern Izon
5. The Very Revd Stephen Oni for the diocese of Ondo
6. The Ven. Dr Cornelius Adagbada for Oke-Ogun diocese
7. The Ven. Dr Paul Olarewaju Ojo was elected for Ijumu diocese
