LEAVE YOUR COMFORT ZONE, LEAD CRUSADE AGAINST POWERS OF DARKNESS – Cleric tells church leaders

By Nick Chibunna
Church leaders have been told to come out of their comfort zone and lead a crusade against the powers of darkness that are daily threatening the future of the church of God.
The chaplain of the Council of Knights in Ikeduru Anglican Diocese, Rev. Canon Charles Mgbemene, gave the charge at the first business meeting of the knights in the year held at St. Paul’s (Ang) Church Umuhu Atta in Ikeduru Diocese.
He said at the Eucharistic session during the meeting that Christians in the country must wake up from their slumber and contend against the excesses of the enemies of the cross which now seemed to have over-run the country.
This, he said, could be done through earnest prayers and supplications. In the homily entitled, “Prayer changes situations” (Acts. 12:5), Canon Mgbemene said that as the church made eamest prayers which moved the hands of God to release Peter while in prison, the present church should also pray and contend against the powers of the darkness that are today traversing the length and breadth of the land, adding that the same angel that released Peter, also killed Herod who impnsouned him.
He regretted that today’s church is sleeping while the enemy is having a field day. He enjoined all, especially knights and ladies as soldiers of the cross to rise up and take the bull by the horns.
