Corps members commended for cleaning Afor Oru market

National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) members serving in Ahiazu Mbaisu LGA have been commended for conducting environmental sanitation exercise at Afor Market Square.
The LGA Deputy Chairman, Comrade Frank Madu gave the kudos during a recent clean up exercise led by the Corpers Liaison Officer (CL0) Mr. Abbas  Adebayo.
He urged them to sustains the cleanliness culture and domesticate same in their places of primary assignment and homes to avert  diseases.
Comrade Madu enjoined traders and shop owners to clean their environment before and after close of the day’s businees and make personal hygiene a priority.
The LG Deputy Chairman harped on the essence to take preventive measure against Lassa fever, a hemorrhagic rat-borne disease contacted by taking food excreted upon by rat with Lassa virus or contact with an infected person and stressed need to cover properly left over foods and foods items, maintain clean and healthy environment as well as personal hygiene to ward off the deadly disease.
He charged them to live in peace with their host communities and take their Community Development Services (CDS) serious to make remarkable marks in their service year.
Speaking, the LGA Chief Orientation and Mobilization Officer, National Orientation Officer (NOA) Lady Fany lbe cautioned against bush burning, indiscriminate littering of refuse and open defecation while calling on all to imbibe hand washing culture to curb contagious diseases.
The  clean up exercise supervised by the Area Inspector of Corpers and Assistant, Mrs. Charity Diala and Mrs. Ann Ikeanumba, respectively also attracted the presence of LGA Chairman National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Comrade Anayo-Chukwu Acharike and appreciative gestures from traders in the market.
