Only God can bring joy into your lives – Cleric tells Christians

Christians have been charged to draw closer to God and trust always in him in order to bring joy into their lives.
An Anglican cleric, Rev. Canon Dr. Festus Opara  gave the charge in his sermon during a special church service to mark the 1st anniversary of St. Peter’s Anglican Church Chapel Irete in Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State.
Preaching on the theme, “Season of unprecedented joy”, he explained that joy and happiness are not the same, stressing that while drinks and material acquisition can make one happy, joy only comes from the knowledge of God.
Rev. Canon Opara, who is the Vicar of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Ikenegbu pointed out that despite the unfavourable political situation and conditions in the country, the faithful joy continues because “Christ in you is the hope of joy”/
He expressed gratitude to God for the 1st anniversary of St. Peter’s Chapel which he said is his home church.
