Dr. Emeka Nwolisa’s father laid to rest at Oba

The remains of late Ogbueshi James Nwolisa has been laid to rest in his home town, Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. He was aged 83.
A funeral service was held in his honour at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Umuogali Oba in Idemili South LGA on 4th May, 2018.
Preaching a sermon during the funeral service, the Anglican Bishop of Ikeduru, the Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Maduwike enjoined Christians to live Godly lives while on earth in order to lay good foundation for eternal rest when they are called by the Almighty God.
Describing death as inevitable, he said that Ogbueshi James Nwolisa had lived out his life on earth and has gone back to his creator.
Bishop Maduwike urged the congregation and all people of God to examine their lives, pointing out that one day they will go back to their creator.
He commended the late elder statesman for the great legacy he left behind and advised his children and grand children to emulate him.
The Anglican Bishop of Owerri, the Rt. Rev. Cyril C. Okorocha, PhD, was represented by Rev. Canon Chris Mejuru.  Ogbueshi James Nwolisa was the father of Dr. Emeka Nwolisa of the FMC Owerri, a good Anglican and supporter of God’s words.
Over 20 priests from both Owerri and Ikeduru Anglican Dioceses were also present at the funeral ceremony.
Before his death, the octogenarian was a renowned community leader widely respected among his people.
He is survived by Dr. Emeka Nwolisa, KSC (Son),  Mrs. Evlyn Nwolisa (wife), Lady Chioma Nwolisa (Daughter-in-law), Sir Okey Agbasimalo (brother, Dr. Jack Nwolisa (brother) and a host of other relations.
