ADC is party to beat in Imo, says chairman

African Democratic Congress (ADC), Imo State wing, has been described as the party to beat in the political equation in Imo State.
Fielding questions from newsmen weekend after the parley between the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) chairman, Hon. Bethel Ibewuchi, and other political stakeholders in the state, the state chairman of the party, Hon Barr. Ignatius Nlem, said that the formation of the party was divine.
Barr. Nlem, who is also the Imo State Chairman of the inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC), a body that serves as a bridge builder between all registered political parties in Nigeria and the electoral umpire, said that God specifically formed ADC to rescue the nation and Imo State in particular from what he described as inept leadership.
He said that the bigwigs and other political stalwarts that daily cross over to ADC attest to its wide acceptability in Nigeria, adding that soon more political parties will collapse into the ADC.
On the allegations that he betrayed the IPAC and short-changed one Mr. Steve Orji with a huge sum of money, the IPAC boss said  that the allegations were fabricated by his political detractors to tarnish his towering image and person, adding that he neither betrayed his council nor short changed any one.
He, however, said that IPAC approved N200,000 for Mr. Orji.
He said that IPAC actually resolved never to participate in the forthcoming council poll, until certain issues were resolved with the ISIEC, but when the time was not on their side, parties were advised to send at least their list of candidate while waiting for further action, hence his own party, the ADC also sent its own list.
