Imo Chief judge to set up committee to investigate allegations against Imo Dep. Gov

The travails of Imo State Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere has continued as members of the Imo State House of Assembly in apparent move to impeach the him further deliberated on allegations of misconduct leveled against the number 2 citizen of the State.
Thirteen members of the House had on Wednesday tabled the allegations before the Speaker.
And in continuation of the move, the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Acho Ihim directed the State Chief Judge to constitute a – man panel to be made up of persons of unquestionable character to investigate the allegations.
The panel is said to be part of the recommendations of an ad hoc committee headed by Hon. Kennedy Ibe and constituted  during plenary.
They are to further report back to the House on July 17, 2018 for further legislative deliberations.
The Deputy Governor’s  Special Assistant, Uche Onwuchekwa in a statements, denied the allegations leveled  against him by the lawmakers.
“The most embarrassing among the spurious allegations is the annoying allegation of concealment of felonious conduct affecting the presentation of self as eligible candidate of office of Deputy Governor of Imo State. This is not only astonishing but an extreme show of lack of due diligence. The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has never been convicted of any civil matter let alone a criminal matter”, part of the statement read.
