The National Joint Council of Knights (JCK) has threatened to sanction any council in the Anglican Communion that allows any matter within their diocese to be taken to court.
The National President-general of the Sacred Order in the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Sir Isaiah Ezezika, gave the warning while addressing a meeting of the national officers of the JCK, and members of the Local Organizing Committee of Owerri Council for the National Delegates’ Conference of the JCK, billed to hold here in Owerri, from Thursday 22nd to Sunday – 25th November, 2018.
The PG, who is also the President of the Aguata Council of Knights, and who led the national officer of the JCK, on the inspection tour of the facilities available in Owerri, and the level of preparations so far made by the Owerri Council, expressed their satisfaction with what they saw on ground.
PG Ezezika expressed optimism that the Owerri Council would be able to package the detals of their preparations in writing, for presentation at the JCK National Executive Committee Meeting coming up soon at Aguata. He, however, noted that their inspection tour was impromptu.
He commended the Evangelism Secretary/Lay Chaplain of the Owerri Council, Dame Stella Dike, for spiritual admonition she gave before the business session and called on all the other Council of Knights in the Anglican Communion to emulate the Owerri Council, by appointing Evangelism Secretaries/Lay Chaplains. According to him, ordained Chaplains may not be available to perform such services at an expected time, due to exigencies of their duties.
Dame Dike, who took her text from 2nd Chronicles 2:1-25, for the admonition, asked the Knights and Ladies to always look up to God in order that He would speak to them, especially in this era of accusations and counter accusations among Christians and non-Christians.
She enjoined them, as Christ bearers, to learn to sing praises unto the Lord, as God, she said, dwells in the midst of praises and capable of doing wonders in all circumstance.
Dame Stella harped on the need for all people of God to always have faith in God, as tomorrow, she assured them, would always be better.
As she retorted: “keep focusing on Jesus, He will never leave you alone, adding that, “whatever you are, without Jesus, you’re going nowhere”.
Giving a vote of thanks, the President of the Owerri Council, Sir Gab Oduah, expressed joy at the coming of the JCK National Executives for the meeting.
He assured the visiting national officers, that the Owerri Council would do their best, in order not to disappoint them, adding that, their four-day stay, during the conference, would remain a glorious story to tell.
Present on the PG’s trip were some past President-General, National Officers and Council Presidents, including Sir Jerry Ofodile, Sir Ogundu Chukwu (past PGs); Sir Felix Chinedu (Secretary-General), Sir Caleb Odenigbo (Treasurer). Others are Sir Samuel Urechukwu (Okigwe-South President), Sir Geoffrey Okoye (Aba President), Sir Davidson (Enugu President), Sir Goddy Ezeugo, Sir John Uzoho (past and present Provost Marshals), and Sir Joshua Iwebuka, Editor Good Knights Magazine, who is in charge of publicity at the national level.
