Nobody can destroy God’s Church – Archbishop of Kaduna

Archbishop Buba Lamido of the Anglican Archdiocese of Kaduna has assured Christians that nobody can destroy the Church of God, and that “nobody can achieve the popular pull-him-down syndrome” because God is the source of power.
The Archbishop, who is also the Dean of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, made the submission at the opening service of the Church of Nigeria Standing Committee held at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Minna, Nigeria State.
He acknowledged that Nigeria and the world is full of troubles in the form of economic, physical, social and political instability.
Most Rev. Lamido, also the Bishop of Wusasa Diocese, said that the people are facing so many challenges because of forces of wickedness but added that God is their refuge at times of impunity, such as we have in Nigeria today.
God fights their battles no matter who they are, their position, chains of degrees and titles, they are powerless but hide under the shadow of God Almighty who is the miracle wondrous worker, working wonders in many ways,” he said.
The Dean, Church of Nigeria, who quoted profusely from the Bible to corroborate the stand of the theme said in sickness, God heals, in fear He comforts, in anxiety, in danger He saves and in sin He forgives adding that God is a refuge to weary souls.
He appealed to the house of Clergy and Laity alike to put their trust in the Lord.
He  described the word of God as the only panacea for the perishing soul, stating that everyone needs to hear the word of God, even those who preach the word of God.”
On his impression of the meeting, the Dean said, “We are here, the Diocese of Minna has tried so much, it is well done, the venue is well organised and to the glory of God this environment is conducive for this important meeting.
“This is standing committee of the Church of Nigeria and one of the reasons of this standing committee meeting is to come together to hear and study the word of God and that is what we are doing to the glory of God.
At the opening service, two new Archbishops were presented to the meeting.  They are The. Most. Rev Gabriel Akinbiyi, Archbishop of Ondo province and The Most Rev Tunde Adeleye as Archbishop of Niger Delta province.
Also speaking, the Registrar, Church of Nigeria, Barr. Abraham Tisa, said that the leadership and fellowership in the church need to have trust and faith in God who will always get them out of temptations.
He thanked the Primate as well as Archbishop Lamido for his sermon which he described as “fantastic”.
