Why Araraume picked running mate from Mbaise

The governorship flag bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, has picked a former governorship aspirant, Steve Nwoga, as his running mate.
Nwoga, one of the 13 governorship aspirants who took part in the governorship primaries of the party, is from Ahiazu Mbaise, which is in Owerri zone, confirming speculation that the senator may choose his running mate from the zone.
Araraume’s choice of Mr. Nwoga now makes the Mbaise bloc a shopping ground for votes considering the impressive membership of APGA by the people of the area.
Political analysts say it is a deft political move into the  enclave of the PDP governorship candidate, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, who also wields enormous political influence in Mbaise.
The Mbaise bloc is the largest political bloc in Owerri zone with four local government areas, namely, Ahiazu Mbaise, Aboh Mbaise, Ezinihitte Mbaise and Ngor Okpala. The four local government areas, have the highest voting strength in the entire Owerri zone.
Araraume is from Okigwe zone and his choice of Mr. Nwoga could be another move to either pacify some members of the “New APGA who had dragged him and the APGA leadership to court over the controversial primaries that produced him as governorship flag bearer of the party.
