Welcome our Lord Bishop

With the consecration of The Rt. Rev. Chukwuma C. Oparah, Ph.D, J P, in Abuja on Friday, he has joined the distinguished panoply of prelates that have been privileged to shepherd the Diocese of Owerri, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.
The Diocese of Owerri is the oldest, and indeed the mother-Diocese of the other Dioceses in the old Owerri Province.
The cleric who sits on the throne at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Lord (CATOL)  Owerri, therefore has an enhanced historical responsibility.
To the glory of God, the new Bishop will be equal to the task, being a well grounded pastor of the flock as well as an eminent academic.
He has a job at hand already as he has been divinely summoned to restore peace, unity and love in the Diocese.
He was reverentially insulated from the paroxysm that afflicted the Diocese in the recent past and is therefore well placed to restore confidence and filial affection among the congregation.
We at CHRISTIAN VOICE wholeheartedly welcome our Lord Bishop and assure him of our loyalty and support as he embarks on his episcopacy.
We also appeal to both the Laity and the Clergy to rally round our new chief shepherd and ensure that he enjoys a smooth takeoff in his new assignment to take  the Diocese of Owerri to the next level of spirituality and progressive evangelism.
Once more, we say welcome, Your Lordship.
He who brought you thus far in the work in His Vineyard, will see you to a successful end, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen!
