Better days ahead … Bishop Okorafor declares 2019 as year of possibilities

Rt. Rev Geoffrey Okorafor has expressed optimism that 2019 would be a much better year for Nigerians.
Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Egbu who expressed the optimism in his sermon with the theme “2019 my year of possibilities” at the Cathedral Church of All Saints. Egbu, Owerri North LGA,Imo State noted that, though the year 2018 was a challenging one, Nigerians would need to take their destiny in their hands to actualize their envisaged goals in the new year.
The Bishop pointed out that 2019 is a year of great expectations, especially for Nigerians,  considering the forthcoming general elections in the country and called on the electorate to embrace peace as they go to the polls to choose their leaders.
He affirmed that the God’s plan is for peace and not of evil, to give them a future and a hope, stressing that the thoughts and plans of God for the Nation cannot be thwarted rather the people’s expectations would be realised at the end of the day.
The Bishop explained that the New Year service was symbolic as it marked the circumcision, the naming of Jesus Christ and the celebration of the entry into a new year.
While advising the electorate not to be carried away by the gifts, both in kind and cash, from politicians including their vain promises, he urged them to remain steadfast in prayers for God to locate the President for Nigeria and Governor for Imo State who are after His heart. He was confident that the God they serve would not disappoint them.
Bishop Okorafor also urged all Christian faithful to aspire to dwell in the secret place of the Most High, for those who do so would abide under the shadow of the Almighty and would always confess the LORD, God not only as their refuge but also their fortress; their God, in whom they would ever put their trust. He further enjoined them to look up to the Almighty in all their endeavours, assuring them that they would reach their life expectations in the New Year.
