… Lays foundation of Church of Holy Spirit’s parsonage Amaogwugwu Obazu, Mbieri

Rt. Rev. Chukwuma C. Oparah, Ph.D, Anglican Bishop of Owerri has laid the foundation stone of Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit, Amaogwugwu Obazu Mbieri parsonage.
Performing the foundation stone laying ceremony, the bishop charged the congregation to sustain the good work of God being witnessed in the fast growing church.
Bishop Oparah, who was accompanied on the Episcopal visit by his wife, Mrs. Chidiebere Oparah gave kudos to all those who laboured for the establishment and growth of the Church, including the first church teacher of the church, Mr. Chimaobi Nwachukwu whom he promised to send to a theological college this year.
Earlier in his sermon during the service, Rev. Canon Casmir Ukonu had charged Christians to make Christ the foundation of their lines stressing that Christ never fails.
According to him God controls the entire universe and its activities absolutely.
“God is in control of everything that takes place in this world. He has sustained the church since 2000 years despite powers of principalities against the church”, the cleric said.
Canon Ukonu who is the Principal of Archdeacon Demis Junior Seminary (ADJS), Mbieri advised the people of God to be very careful, especially as the general election approaches, adding that they should not sell their conscience because of material gifts.
The high point of the service was the award of honour to some distinguished members of the church and other eminent personalities.
The award recipients include Ven. Donald Oguike, Sir Engr. Baldwin Onozie, Rev. Obed Nosiri, Chief  Humphrey Anumudu, High Chief  Chidi Ibe, Chief Kingsley Asinobi and Elder Eddy Nosiri.
Others are Ikechukwu Joseph Ukegbu, Chief Sir Louins Opara, chief Kingsley Egbunine, Chief Darlington Chimezie among others.
The awards were presented to them by the bishop assisted by his wife.
The first and second lessons of the service from Ezra 3:7-13 and Mathew 7:24-29 where read by Barr. Goddy Eziefula (KSC) and the priest in charge of the church, Rev. Godsgift Ikeh respectively.
The chairman of the foundation stone laying committee, Hon. Engr. Chinomso Nosiri thanked God for a successful event. He specially thanked the bishop and his wife as well as all those who graced the occasion. Engr. Nosiri promised to take care of the plastering of the entire church building.
In his vote of thanks, the Archdeacon of Obazu Mbieri, Ven. Feddy Mbalisi, also expressed gratitude to bishop Oparah and his wife for the episcopal visit to Obazu Mbieri Archdeaconry.
