… Lays foundation of new parsonage of St. Stephen’s Orji

The Anglican Bishop of Owerri, Rt. Rev. Chukwuma Oparah, Ph.D has commended the congregation of All Saints Anglican Church, Orji in Owerri North Local Government Area for their efforts, resilience and doggedness.
He gave the commendation at the foundation stone laying ceremony of their ultra-modern parsonage during his Episcopal visit to the church last weekend.
The Prelate charged Christians to remain steadfast in God, stressing that the church of God must move forward despite the manipulations and efforts of the gate of hell.
In a brief homily, Rev. Fortune Orji charged Christians to always serve and worship God with all their hearts, notwithstanding the trials and challenges they face.
Speaking on the topic, “serving and worshiping God in the beauty of His holiness” and taking his text from 1 Chronicles 16:28-29, he noted that Israel passed through wars and other challenges in their quest to recover the ark of God, adding that God gave them victory at last.
The cleric pointed out that one of the problems of the church today is negative propaganda and cautioned against evil conversation, false allegation, slander, gossip, character assassination and other negative vices. He enjoined Christians to render selfless service and support to the ministry of God.
The service was conducted by the Administrator of Orji Area, Rev. Canon Uneze Ukaegbu, assisted by the Resident Priest, Rev. Daniel Nzediegwu while the only lesson was read by Evang. Hope Nzediegwu, the Priest’s wife.
The highpoint of the service was the laying of the foundation stone of the parsonage by the Bishop, cutting of foundation cake and raising of funds in support of the church.
