New Ikeduru Hospital to focus on cancer treatment

The Imo State Government has taken steps to establish a hospital which promises to be one of the best in cancer treatment.
This was disclosed at the formal opening of Ikeduru hospital, Iho, by Dr (Mrs) Aderonke Mordi, the president and chief executive officer of the International Healthcare Consulting (IHC).
Ikeduru hospital, one of the 27 hospitals built by the Imo State government, was leased to IHC to render medical services with a focus on cancer treatment.
Dr. (Mrs.) Mordi said that the hospital has been equipped with the latest technology in treating all kinds of cancer and providing surgery, detoxification, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
According to her, staff and equipment are owned and managed by IHC.
The Imo State Health Commissioner, Dr. (Mrs) Angela Uwakwem, in her opening remark, expressed satisfaction on the level of work done and assured the medical team of the state government’s readiness to ensure the realization of the project.
Also speaking, the secretary to the Imo State government, Engr. Mark Uchendu, said that the modest achievement has proved that the rescue mission government of Gov. Rochas Okorocha values the lives of Imo people.
He noted that 10 hospitals out of the 27 have began operations in various local government areas and urged the medical experts to be selfless in performing their duties.
Uchendu also appealed to them to freely transfer knowledge to the trainees that might be working with them.
The hospital administrator, Dr. Austin Chidi Agbahiwe preached adequate sanitation in the hospital.
