These killings must stop -Primate Okoh

The Primate of The Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Rev’d Nicholas D Okoh, has described the upsurge of killings across the country as worrisome than ever before.
He said Nigerians had thought that after the general elections there would have been an obvious respite from the mindless butchering of people but the reverse ‘is now the case.
” There has been a renewed rampage of killer herdsmen and the new sister-elements described as bandits around the country has made the development more worrisome than ever before”.
Primate Okoh made this known in his Presidential Address ( Bishop’s Charge) with the theme ” Servant – Leadership ” he delivered to the delegates to the Third Session of the Tenth Synod of the Diocese Of Abuja taking place at St Mathew’s Church, Gwarinpa Estate Abuja.
He told the Federal Government to rise up to its responsibility of securing the lives and properties of the citizenrs saying  “Nigerians have passed their elastic limit hoping for a better country”.
Primate Okoh commended the Federal Government on the new N30,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers saying : “It Is a good step in the right direction “.
On the 2019 general elections, the Primate said it was unfortunate that some of our politicians were yet to see beyond the next elections as they still allowed selfishness to rule their hearts.
He said it was sad to still notice that transparency in the conduct of elections was still a bane in Africa. “When elections are not transparent and seen to be truly so, it cannot produce the right leaders.”
Primate Okoh, therefore, called on the Judiciary to remain the hope of the common man for justice as they had always done.
