US-based doctor promises aid to Owerri Diocese … In its drive to give people better healthcare

A medical practitioner based in the United States of America, Dr. Sam Agubosim, has promised to contribute to the efforts of the  Anglican Diocese of Owerri to boost healthcare service.
He made the pledge during a visit to Christian Voice newspaper at Uzzi Mission Compound, Owerri recently, in the company of the Rt. Rev. Chukwuma Oparah, Ph.D JP and some other members of the Agubosim family.
Dr. Agubosim averred that his experiences during his visit home showed that the people really need help in the area of health.
He commended Bishop Oparah for upgrading the St. Luke’s Referral Hospital and Advanced Diagnostics and expressed excitement at the provision of a hospital vehicle as well as other facilities at the hospital.
According to him, he was motivated to pay the visit in response to the Bishop’s request for people to help in the hospital project, which is also located at the Uzii Mission Compound, Owerri.
The anesthesiologist and expert in pain management said that areas where people could assist the hospital at the moment include the provision of x-ray machines and drug supplies.
In welcoming the visitors, the Managing Editor of Christian Voice, Sir Martin Ebe, thanked them for the visit and reminded them to also carry out medical outreaches to add to the efforts of the Diocesan.
Dr. Agubosim’s elder brother, Chief Steve Agubosim, said that he was moved by the bishop’s efforts to request his brother and his son, Chinonso Agubosim, who is also a fresh medical school graduate, to visit and assess ways of contributing their own quota.
