New Management for ITC

Better days seem to be in line for the Imo Transport Company, (ITC) as Gov Emeka Ihedioha has set up an interim management committee for the state’s transport outfit.
The committee, which was inaugurated last Monday,  by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Uche Onyeagocha, in his office was charged with the responsibility of developing an implementable framework for repositioning ITC for optimal service delivery and profitability.
It was also saddled with the task of reviewing all existing contractual concessionary engagements and advice the state government on the way forward as well as ensuring that all existing leasing and franchising agreement obligations are met.
The Committee is also expected to ensure that salaries of workers are paid regularly  as well as receive and manage all accruable revenues to ITC and government.
Speaking to newsmen after the inauguration, the chairman of the committee,  Sir Emeka Aririguzo, promised to do his best to ensure that the committee  delivers, so as to reciprocate the confidence reposed in them. He pointed out that a thorough inspection and assessment of  the company will be undertaken to assist them carry out the task.
He will be ably assisted by Comrade Emeka Nwokeke as Vice chairman while Barr. Uche Alisigwe will serve as secretary.
Other members of the committee included Kelechi Ngumezi, Ahanonu Williams, Aburi Ndidi, Onyemachi and Ngozi Oguike.
Similarly a financial advisory committee has been inaugurated by the state government to assist it boost its financial revenue base.
Performing the inauguration at the Sam Mbakwe executive chambers last Monday, the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, who was represented by the secretary to the state Government (SSG), Chief Uche Onyeagocha charged them to use their wealth of experience to assist the government  in recovering, creating and building a strong financial base.
The star-studded committee has Aham Nwankwo as its chairman while Nick Oparandudu, a former commissioner in Imo State, serves as secretary.
