The Owerri Municipal Council has inaugurated a special security squad in its efforts to ensure the security of lives and property in the municipality.
Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Council, Hon. Ebere Chukwuemeka, at a crucial security meeting held at the council headquarters, charged the guards to redouble their efforts in curbing crime within the municipality.
He urged them to be proactive and to work in harmony with other security agencies.
Present at the meeting were the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) of Owerri Urban Police Station, Shell Camp, New Owerri, and the traditional rulers in the municipality.
