Ihedioha applauded for digitalising Imo pension

The Imo State Governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has been lauded for the digitalization of the state pension scheme and genuine commitment to regular payment of pensioners.
The LGA Interim Management Committee Chairman, Sir. Sam Ahiarakwe gave the kudos while addressing local and state governments’ retirees during the state-wide pension verification and biometric data capturing exercise in the area.
He urged them to be patient and co-operate with the verification team, guarantying that the exercise would be done once and for all and pensions paid monthly without stressing the pensions.
Sir. Ahiarakwe who also doubles as the State Co-ordinator of the 27 LGAs IMC Chairmen applauded them for voting in Rt. Hon. Ihedioha as governor and reaffirmed his resolve to better their welfare.
The LG boss who warned against extortion and disrespect to senior citizens said the verification would be conducted ward by ward and told relatives of the frail and sick retirees to draw attention of the verification team for capturing.
He said they would be treated to light refreshment just as medical team would be on ground to take care of any emergence, asking God to give them more strength and more years to enjoy the fruit of their labour.
Sir. Ahiarakwe reiterated that what the governor needs most is their untainted support and prayer and enjoined them to conduct themselves decorously for smooth and hitch-free exercise.
Reacting, a state official of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Sir. Remy Ugwulebo appreciated the state and local governments for treating retirees with human face and respect unlike what they experienced in the past, calling on the verification team to galvanize efforts and commence as early as 8.00 a.m. and close at the appropriate time to meet up the target.
The exercise which commenced with the state pensioners would be rounded off with the local government retirees.
