It’s time to work with God of times, seasons – Out-going EFAC boss tells Christians

By Our  Reporter

Christians have been charged to always understand the time so as to walk with the God of times and seasons.
The outgoing National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion (EFAC), Rt. Rev. Henry Okeke gave the charge in his opening speech at the 2019 national convention of the fellowship held in the Diocese of Aba, Abia State recently.
He regretted that, as the end of time draws near, the society deepens in sin and most unfortunately pulling the church along.
Bishop Okeke, who described the theme of the convention “Understand the Times” (Ephesians 5:15-17) as apt, also emphasized the importance of understanding the times and enjoined Christians to emulate the biblical sons of Issachar.
The Prelate urged the people of God to always adhere to the message of God and to make good use of every opportunity.
Also speaking at the convention, the immediate past Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Most Rev. Jasper Akinola strongly warned ministers against insatiable appetite for materialism, which he said, is bedeviling some preachers in our contemporary society.
Akinola reminded the brethren that they are serving the Almighty God in whom no secrets are hidden and all desires of the heart known.
The convention which held between  12th and 18th August at St. Michael’s Cathedral Aba and Ovom Girls High School, Ogbor Hill, Aba featured topical sermons such as “Today’s Child Vs Tomorrows Society” “GAFCON”, “Gods Instrument in A Changing World”, “If the Foundation Be Broken,” Godly Children in Ungodly World” and so on.
Other speakers at the convention include the Primate of Uganda, Most Rev. Stanley Ntagali, the host Bishop, Rt. Rev. Christian Ugwuzo, the EFAC Eastern Block Chairman, Rt. Rev. Okojaja.  The Primate of All Nigeria, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh and many other Bishops and resource persons were also in attendance.
Highpoint of the convention included the dedication, by the Primate, of the newly acquired evangelism, bus, music equipment and the standard generating plant donated by a high profile Anglican and the election of new national officers.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel C. Ezeafor is the chairman, while Ven. Henry Ajayi is the secretary among others.
