The people of Amadehi Ubulu in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State as well as people from other areas within and outside the state trooped out in their large numbers to participate and benefit from the free medical outreach organized by Resurrection House for All Nations, a United States of America (USA) based missionary organization.
The 3-day event which lasted from Monday to Wednesday was held at the Amadehi Community Hospital, Ubulu, which now wears a new look, with modern facilities courtesy of Resurrection House for All Nations.
Free medical services ranging from medical consultation, examination/ diagnosis, surgery, eye treatment, dental treatment, as well as treatment of several types of diseases such as malaria, typhod, fever and measles were given to the people.
A good number of the medical personel including doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other attendant were all on hand to attend to the teeming masses who trooped to venue to access free medical treatment.
Free drugs were also given out to the people after adminsing them to give their lives to Christ.
Speaking to Christian Voice in an interview, the President and Chairman of Resurrection House for All Nations, Apostle Chika Nnamdi Onuzo explained that he was motivated to embark on the free medical outreach by the need to provide quality and accessible healthcare to the people and save lives.
He noted that most deaths in Nigeria, were not natural but, were caused by lack of adequate healthcare.
According to him, he started by renovating the hospital to bring it to standard before bringing medical personel from USA and Nigeria to come to Amadchi.
Apostle Onuzo pointed out that the free medical outreach is not for Amadchi Ubulu people alone but for people from all areas.
He called on the government and those in leadership positions to sincerely channel the nation’s huge resources towards projects that have meaningful impact on the people, stressing that the nation can change for better if the right things are done.
Also speaking, the Head of the Resurrection House for All Nations, Dr. Michal Obiekwe who conducted Christian Voice round the hospital, explained that local health personeel were also recruited for continuity. He said that the sponsor, Apostle Onuzo has ensured that the sugery section and other sections were well equipped. Speaking also the general cordiator of the programe, Rev. Canon Benedict Nkemclu praised the sponsor for his gesture. He recalled that the hospital had gone into oblivion for more than 20 years but was brought back to life by Apostle Onuzo Canon Benedict, who is the Administrator of Ubulu Archdeaconry said that the free medical outreach has afforded many who were helpless financially, the opportunity to access good healthcare, adding that it equally took care of the spiritual healing of the people for heavenly harvest.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Evelyn Onyeaghala, who has a successful suggery expressed happiness and described the programme as soul saving.
She prayed God to continue to bless the sponsor.
