Kidnappers in police, military uniform invade Imo

The Imo State Police Command has alerted members of the public of kidnappers and armed robbers operating in police and military uniforms in the state.
Spokesman of the command, SP Orlando Godson Ikeokwu, said in Owerri, capital of the state, that the hoodlums operate in mini-buses marked “Bus Imo”, as well as in Lexus SUV and Toyota Sienna vehicles.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), intelligence reports stated that they come from the neighbouring River State and leave Imo after their operation to an unknown destination, with their victims.
The command, therefore, urged members of the public to be wary of these criminals and to report any suspected vehicle or occupants to the police or other security agencies.
Ikeokwu stated that the command was collaborating with other security agencies to arrest the hoodlums and has solicited for partnership with the public in information sharing.
He assured the people of Imo of their resolve to rid Imo State of crime and criminality, especially within this ’ember months.
SP Ikeokwu urged members of the public to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation.
