In line with the rebuild Imo agenda of the Chief Emeka Ihedioha-led administration in Imo State, Ikeduru one of the 27 council areas in the state, has embarked on agro-industrial revolution.
To this end, the First batch of 20 youths are currently undergoing training in Nasarawa State on modern system of agriculture and animal husbandry. This was disclosed by the Interim Management Committee (IMC) chairman of the Council, Hon. Dr. Anslem Opara, while fielding questions from Christian Voice in his office, Iho, the council headquarters.
The council boss who spoke on a number of issues, including the first 100 days in office of Chief Emeka Ihedioha’s administration, the recent Imo governorship election petition tribunal judgment, the state of the nation and his blue print on the administration of Ikeduru Local Government Area expressed hope that with the current trend of events, Imo State would soon bounce back to her former glory.
On the first 100days in office of the present “Rebuild Imo” project Dr. Opara said that almost every citizen of the state was happy with the advisements recorded within the short period.
He said that the people of Imo State did not expect less, judging from the fact that the governor a seasoned technocrat and legislator. He maintained that although 100days was not enough to appraise a sitting governor, the period under review had restored hope, to the people of the state.
The council boss expressed joy at the outcome of the recent chief Emeka Ihedioha during the March 23rd governorship election in the state, described it as victory for democratic principles.
He said that the judgment has vindicated the people of Imo State on their avowed support for their governor.
On the move by the other parties to seek redress at the Supreme Court, Dr. Opara said that the mode was a waste of time and resources, but was quick to advise those concerned should retrace their steps.
On the state of the nation, he said that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal government has failed the generality of the Nigerians adding that President Muhammad Buhari’s best is not good enough for the country.
