Ahiazu LG distributes desks to schools

Ahiazu Mbaise LGA Interim Management Committee Chairman, Sir. Sam Ahiarakwe has flagged-off distribution of desks to primary schools in the 12 wards of the area.
Speaking during the flag-off at Town Primary School Oru Ahiara, the IMC Chairman said it was in fulfillment of the Imo State Governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha’s promise for qualitative education.
He stated that the exercise would be continuous and in phases, calling on some of the schools who could not benefit now to be patient.
The LG boss, accompanied by his IMC Members and Aides enjoined the pupils to be of good conduct and take their studies serious, reassuring that the present local and state governments was determined to give them better sense of belonging and a conducive learning environment.
To the teachers, he urged to be rededicated and see the task of bringing up sound moral children as a divine call that must be accounted for if not on earth but surely before the creator.
Commenting, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on culture, Chief Joe Ehioma lauded the LG Chairman for speedy execution of the governor’s directives on distribution of school desk, construction of secretariat complex, stadium and other projects, stressing essence for the headmistress, Mrs. Bridget Madu and the teachers to ensure that pupils make good use of the desks, preserve and do not destroy them.
On his part, the LGA Chairman Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Barnabas Mmadinobi patted the IMC Chairman on the back for making good the governor’s promise and urged the teachers and pupils to reciprocate the gesture and make the local and state governments proud.
Appreciating the LG boss for living up to expectation, the LGA Education Secretary, Mrs. Eunice Ekechukwu remarked that the flag-off of the exercise at Town School Oru was most appropriate as the pupils lack desks to sit on while teaching and learning and appealed that the school be given more desks to accommodate the pupils.
In her vote of thanks, the school headmistress, Mrs. Bridget Madu expressed gratitude to the LG boss for remembering them and urged him not to relent in the good works he is doing.

Columbus Akalonu, Member for Ogbor/Umueze and Ward Woman Leader, Hon. (Mrs.) Augustine Iwueke, Member for Amuzi/Ihenweorie, Hon. Emma Nwahiri, Ogbe Ahiara – Hon. Livinus Anyanwu, Mpam – Hon. Christian Egwuato, Okrikanweke – Hon. Chile Onwuegbule and Member for Okrikanwenkwo, Hon. (Mrs.) Gladys Ezeji were present during the flag-off of the distribution of the school desks.
