Worried by the deplorable state of roads in Imo, Gov. Emeka Ihedioha of the state has said that his Rebuild Imo project could no longer wait for the Federal Government to fix its roads in the state.
To this end, he said that his administration had already engaged some reputable contractors to start fixing the roads, including those which fell under FG’s schedule, in earnest.
The governor, who said that government is about people, lamented that Imo people have suffered untold hardship due to the deplorable state of their roads.
Gov Ihedioha, who was addressing members of the state expanded Executive Council and other stakeholders, Wednesday, at the Chief Sam Mbakwe Executive Chamber, said that almost all the roads in the state were in bad shape.
He reiterated his desire for good governance, but regretted that financial constraint remains one of the problems of his administration.
