The Anglican Communion, Diocese on the Niger, has banned the printing of brochure and ceremonial dresses aka ‘asoebi’ during burial ceremonies of its members in a bid to reduce the cost of funerals.

Ihemtuge said the diocese took the decision at its June 2019 Synod of its 19 archdeaconry at Abatete, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.
He advised the faithful who came for outing services after the burial of their beloved ones to be informed of the new diocesan laws on burial rites and advised other faithful to abide by the law.
Ihemtuge said that the new law commenced from July 1 after the decision was taken in June and appealed to faithful to key into the new law for their own benefit.
