Youth CAN mobilises for 3-day fasting against insurgency

The Southern Youths Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on all Christian faithful in Nigeria to join in the three-day fasting and prayers being organized by its umbrella body,  in a bid to end the gruesome killing of Christians by insurgents.
The Chairman, Barr. Oluchukwu Green Nnabugwu, while speaking with journalists in Owerri recently reiterated that the mobilization for fervent prayers, which commenced on January 31to end today, February 2, 2020, was necessary now that the insurgents are targeting solely Christians across the states.
According to him”, the unabated kidnappings and killings of Christians in Nigeria has become worrisome and government at all tiers  have consistently failed in their primary responsibility to secure lives and property of its citizens, hence the need for Christians to be more proactive and call on God to destroy all enemies of the church”.
He, however, wondered why there are more killings and kidnappings by Boko Haram bandits whenever the government claims defeat of insurgency and criminality.
He called for all to be vigilant.
Recall that the CAN Chairman in Adamawa State,  Rev. Lawan Andimi, alongside Rev Denis Baguari were murdered by insurgents.
Also, a member of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Ropvil Daciya Dalep, was kidnapped on the Damaturu-Maiduguri Highway while returning from school at Maiduguri University in Borno State and was subsequently murdered by the same terrorist group, Boko Haram.
